Eye Makeup Tutorial

Today I'm going to show you how I do my daily eye makeup. It's a simple look that could be used as a basic technique in common cosplays. If you want to know how I do it, continue reading! (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

I don't have much eyelid to work with so I don't usually use eyeshadow. This is what I learned works best for me. I'm sure yours will be a bit different but these are just guidelines that could somehow give you a start on eye makeup. ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ

  • Start with a clean canvas.
I put concealer on my eyelids cause it makes the eyes look brighter. You can also use a colored eye primer or a cream eyeshadow.

  • Using a brush loaded with reddish-brown eyeshadow, I start sweeping it along my lower lashline.
The color of the eyeshadow depends on your skin color and your mood - bright colors are usually for daytime and darker ones for the night. Then I just blend it downwards. This will make a shadow making the eyes look bigger. Be sure to check every now and then what it looks like from far away. If done wrong, it may look like an eyebag making your eyes look tired. ლ(́◉◞౪◟◉‵ლ)

  • Then I use a black liquid eyeliner to line my upper lids, extending it downwards.
I make sure that the eyeliner is as close to the lashline as possible. Also, I follow the natural curve of my eyes and make the line as perfect as I can. This needs practice but doing so will make the eyeliner look more natural. Try and work with your eye not against it. Don't make it too thick or too thin. Also, you cannot go too low for the ends of the liner. This type of eye makeup could make your eyes look too droopy if done improperly. There's a GOOD LENGTH AND ANGLE in doing the eyeliner for different kinds of eye. It's best if you practice so you'll see which ones work best for you.

  • Once I figure out the shape that I want for my eyes, I start defining my lower eyeliner and blend it with the upper part. I use a dark brown/black matte eyeshadow and connect this to the top eyeliner making sure that I get the shape that I want.
Again, check your progress once in a while. These eyeshadows will bring depth and definition to your eyes. The shadow it creates makes an illusion that would change your eye shape and make your eyes look longer.

  • Apply some white eyeshadow at the inner corners of the eye and blend everything.

Blending is crucial to this eye makeup. Make sure there's no harsh edges both with the dark eyeshadows and the white one.

  • Then just put on blush and lipstick and you're good to go!
Here are some pictures of the full makeup.

You can also put falsies like what I did here!

Or use black eyeshadow, white eyeliner and coats of mascara(top&bottom) for a more intense look!

Have a wonderful day! Goodluck!
